I've been thinking about getting one of these as a moderately priced EDC; do you have any opinions on it? Ergonomics, weight in the pocket, ease of opening, etc. Thanks for the help, God Bless America.

My only complaints about the Scorpius is that it's only offered with stainless handles and right-handed clip mounts. If you're a right-hander who doesn't mind sometimes-slick SS handles, it's a great alternative to similar size Spyders like the Delica and Native. I think it has some great ergonomics compared to those two as well.

The Scorpius has probably been my favorite Spyderco folder over the last couple of years.

Its blade geometry is similar to the Native, but better. The hollow grind on the Scorpius doesn't seem as deep. It also has a nice clip point, as opposed to the Native's spear or drop point. And I ♥ VG-10. :)

The pros and cons of SS handles can be debated. Though the Scorpius weighs more than some other knives its size, it carries well because it's so thin.

The ergos are kinda weird, so you might want to handle one before you buy. Some people like it and others don't. You can choke up on the handle and put your index finger in the choil, but it also feels good to hold it further back.

My Scorpius was pretty hard to open out-of-the-box; it was really tightly constructed and the blade was very stiff. After awhile though, it loosened up.

I personally love the knife, but... I don't think it's been a big seller. If the Scorpius has to compete with knives like the Delica and Native, it may have a hard time gaining the attention of ELUs.

The Scorpious is one of those knives that has to handled before you can really appreciate it. Great ergos, and the shape will lock it in your hand no matter what grip you use.
