This is a timeless design that's been around for centuries. It's not an attempt to re-create an antique knife, but has been built as a modern hunting/Utlity knife of modern materials. I live on the Scotia Barrens of Central Pennsylvania, hence the name. The blade design has become quite popular on "bushcraft/woodcraft" type knives; but I like a simpler handle than what is currently being used these days. A comfortable using knife; not designed for stabbing/combat.
Specs:
Blade: 3/32" 154CM stainless. Cryo by D'Holder. Blade is flatground, distal tapered, satin finished and convex edged. 4 1/8" long X 1 1/4" wide.
Handle: Polished water buffalo horn with copper/nickel silver mosaic pins and coppper lanyard tube. Spacers are red/white/black and liners are red.
OAL: 8 3/8"
Weight: 6 oz
Balance point: Between bolster and first mosaic pin
Sheath: 6/7 oz bark tanned leather. Double saddle stitch with blade welt. Waterproofed with Resolene.
Remarks: Blade and bolster sides are satin finished. Handle, side of tang, and blade spine are mirror polished.
Price: $195.00 USD. Includes postage CONUS. Paypal, check, MO.

I'll take it. Joel, Please send info as to where PayPal should be sent. I tried to email you at link on description but it did not go through.

I received this knife today. It is everything I expected and more. Joel is a great person to deal with. Thanks Joel

Joel, looking at the pic with the knife and the sheath, the knife looks like it has almost a spear point, that is the spine and the blade are symetrical, but the sheath looks like it was made for a knife with a straight spine.

Is it just the photo angle making it look that way?

BTW, that is a very good looking knife!!

Andy

You're right. The blade is spear pointed and the sheath has a straight spine.
I don't care for two piece sheaths(too bulky) or ones that have stitching only part way up one side(too ugly), so unless the design forces me to, I make my normal pouch sheath where the leather is folded on the one side and stitched on the other. Doesn't create any problems when carrying it.

Just curious, I used to hunt in Gatesburg, shoot at Scotia range, and ride mountain bikes in the Barrens themselves.. Mom still lives in Lemont. Weird, small world..

Thanks, works for me. Beautiful knife! The handle looks blue in the pics, it isn't though, is it?

Small world indeed. I live on the Stormstown side; right on the western edge of the barrens/SGL176. Marengo road is about a mile from me.. I live off of Smith Rd, where you turn off 550 by Way's fruit farm. Been here 22 years an'know every tree by name.;) Really good friend of mine lives in Lemont.

Thanks. Buffalo horn is black, with a bit of white and sometimes a spot of brown, but does look bluish when the light is at an angle like that. Polishes beautifully, and is tough stuff on top of it.

Really nice knife, but hit some bad luck and have to sell. Check individual custom knives for sale.
