After a 2 year wait, it is finally here, and WOW, it is better than I had hoped.
My lefty Lochsa with S90V steel and no clip, just as I wanted, and ordered. I did change the order, during my 2 year wait. Two years of anticipation will do that to a guy. Originally ordered with a damascus blade, and the reverse stye finish satin handle, I changed to the S90V with the bead blast and the satin edges. It is so nice, I only wish that I had ordered 2 or 3, ... A guy can dream, can't he. Anyway, some first impressions.
  • The handle contours, are great. feels great in the hand.
  • The fit and finish is perfect
  • The lock-up is like a vault, with a beautiful sound.
  • The action is very, very smooth.
  • The handle, as many of you know, is made from one solid piece of titanium. WOW!! How does he do that?
  • The integral lanyard slot, or hole? is a sweet touch.
  • The overall package is a svelt piece. doesn't feel like the big blade that it is.
  • I think the blade shape is perfect. Not to broad, not to pointy. Just right.
  • The thumstud is very ergonomic and comfortable. He put some real thought in that one. It has an orientation to it, that fits your thumb.
[/LIST] As you can probably tell, I am more than pleased.
And best of all, he would make one for a southpaw.
Enough typing, I must go fondle the blade.:D :D

Dave. :)

I AM currently on the list. I KNOW it IS worth the 2+ year wait. Congrats on getting yours.

Congratulations!--Fellow Lefty!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

It took me over two years to get mine from Scott. It is a wonderful piece of workmanship. Enjoy it and use it. It can take it.

Congrats,
I got the same knife only with a clip.
Have you discovered the marking of the S90V blade yet or is Scott no longer doing this?

TheKnifeCollector .. I see you are a Sebenzanite. How do you compare the two?
I had a woodie of Chris Reeves. Nice knife, but this is much better IMO.

aquina .. No I did not see any marking, that I noticed. It is marked on the card. How is yours marked?

Dave.

I do not have my Lochsa yet. I am still waiting. I have never handled a Lochsa. I just had to have a Lochsa! I have only seen pix. I love the fact that the Locsha handle is one piece of titanium, that just blows me away. I ordered mine with S90V and dual thumbstuds.

With the knife closed look at the blade part that faces you when you look at the pivot end. This is right "around the corner" from where the thumb ridge filings are. My blade has a tiny "90" scratched into this space.

Aquina - Thank You. You are right. Mine is marked on the back edge of the tang, where it meets the titanium frame. it would have been tough to spot, without you mentioning it, as well as it being in the right light. If you would not have mentioned it, I may never have spotted it. With the knife in the open position, it is covered. Thanks for the tip. ( no pun intended). This adds a little bit of a pedigree to the knife I think.

TheKnifeCollector - Not only is it one piece of titanium, it is not just a flat slab sided handle, like you know who's. ( Not a critisism, just a fact.) It has a variety of curves and bevels in all of the right places. In my opinion, it is without a doubt the "Ron Lake" of integral frame locks both in terms of fit and finish, but also aesthetic design and shape. It is really that good. You will be amazed, and may have to change you subname. :) :)

Dave.

David Z: What Scott does with titanium is amazing!! I know pix do not do this knife justice. I love the bevels on the Loachsa. It is an amazing looking knife. I can only imagine how wonderful it feels to have one in your hand. I think that the Lochsa just melts intoo your hand.

As a side note, have you seen what Matt Cucchiara does with titanium?

Matt C.

TKC - The Lochsa does melt in your hand. A good characterization. I have not seen any of Matt's work. But I will Check it out.
Dave.

Dave.

It is a pretty subtle mark and took me about a year to notice it on my Lochsa.

Enjoy your knife,
aquina

I received mine in October this year after a 2 year 8 or so months wait - but who's counting.... :p

Thing is that Scott is a really good bloke that makes an awesome knife. Simple as that.

Greg

gregvisser - It took 2 years to get mine. I guess I was lucky. :)
Dave.

I don't care how long it takes!! I am just thrilled to have gotten an order in, before he stopped taking orders. And I KNOW it well worth the wait.

My order has been in for 2 years and 2 weeks.....but who's counting :p
I agree, Scott is a top notch guy!!

Chris D. :D

CAD - I would send him an email about once every 3 to 4 months, Just to check status. Scott actually asked me to do it, and I was happy to oblige :). I only wish I would have ordered more than one. They are that nice.
Dave.
