Scott Cook Lochsa question

A few years ago, I corresponded with Scott about making a couple custom large / small mammoth ivory and slightly customized Owyhee hunters. He was very good at responding quickly. Sadly, I didn't go ahead and have them made at that time. Big mistake I've regretted ever since. I'd try to contact him again. He is probably tied up or had email problems. I had a period at work where the spam filtering system seemed to either block or trash my important emails while forwarding all the spam. :-( The Lochsa is a beautiful knife. I hope to have one some day.

This ones not a Lochsha but it is a Scott Cook original.

He made this for me many years ago when he was still new to the knife making world.

I have posted this before but thought maybe all of the Cook fans may not have seen it.

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if Scott makes the Lochsa in left-hand versions?

Thanks

I picked up a lefty Lochsa off Scotts table at the 2005 Chicago Custom show. I remember walking away from a fancy lefty with a damascus blade at either the 2004 or 2005 blade show.

Scott is one of the few makers who bring lefty knives to the shows. Other makers should take note.

Brian,

I appreciate the info. Now that I know that Scott makes left-handed versions of the Lochsa, I've got to figure out how to get one. Unfortunately, I live in Thailand and can't attend any of the knife shows.

Hi Wangyimeng,

Would you know if the left-handed Lochsa in the link you provided is available for purchase? I wish I could attend the various knife shows around the U.S., however I am retired and living in Thailand so that makes it an impossibility unless a knife show happens to coincide with one of my trips back home. I may have to put my name on the waiting list.

Thanks,

David

Just visit the various knife-forums and place a "wanted-add".
Chances are very very small that you'll find an internet-retailer who has Lochsa's for sale, let alone a rare left-handed model!!!

They do show up on some for sale threads, but you have to be there right on time because most of the time they sell within minutes!!!

You could always ORDER one from Mr. Cook!! The wait is long enough, to give you plenty of time to save for one!!

Hi David,
Yes, that knife is in China. If you believe me, I can help you to purchase, but you need to remit money to me.
Thanks,
wang

I really like the Lochsa. Earlier Last year I was put on his waiting list. At that time, I think he told me around 18-24 months for the wait.

I want a set, both in Damascus with different handle finishes.

Mine will be ready this spring-received an e-mail a couple weeks back-I place the order 2 years ago!!!:D

well guys you all just missed out on a Lochsa from BossHoss for $675.

I sent an email to EBossHoss.com yesterday and received the following reply from Joe Ukman:

"I am happy to tell you David that it is a righty.... Happy because it sold about 20 minutes ago."

I had asked if the Lochsa was a righthand or lefthand model as I was looking for a lefthand model. I'm also happy it was a righthand model since it was sold before I had a chance to make the purchase. I'll keep looking and tp severedthumbs, thanks for the heads up.
