Hope this is ok in this forum. I would just like to give kudos to Scott Ickes. He was on a business trip to my hometown and made time to come and meet me. I know he was very busy but he found a way to stop by my place with another gentleman from Timken. The two of them couldnt have been nicer people. I gave him a short tour of my setup and he was nice enough to share some advice and do some shop talk. He saved me some substantial time with a few hints and gave me some pointers on forging and some motivation to get a smithy set up. Scott is the type of guy that makes bieng a starting knife maker such a joy. My family and I really enjoyed his visit and welcome him back anytime. Thanks Scott.
 
BigJim, Scott is the kind of guy who throws a beer at you as soon as you walk in the door. He's a gracious host.

Awwww shucks. I just got back online after not having internet access for a week. Dustin is a great guy and his first knives were incredible (he still has them!). He is going to be heard from more and more in this field. His handle fit and finish is spectacular already. I was very impressed.

Have you made anything out of the steel I gave you? hint, hint.....make stuff!
 
I'm gettin' there, Scott, I promise. Just got done with a grinder build, and some bike work. Now I have to dig my shop out from under some serious accumulation. Excuses, excuses.......:o

YEP!!!! Excuses it's just like a A'hole everyone has one.:confused: BUTT in your case you may have two.;) :D
