This one's gonna hurt, but, here goes.
New and mint Slobodian Dress Tanto, 6.25" blade of forged 1095, the handle and scabbard are the sweetest Thuya Burl you'll ever see, finished to perfection, with more gloss than the pictures show for some reason, the fittings are polished, black buffalo horn, the 2 handle Menukis are hand made, very intricate female dragons, made from antiqued "Merlin's Gold" which is a mix of bronze and copper that has a very rich, golden color and takes a wonderful patina.
The Habaki and guard are also Merlin's Gold, and both have simple, elegant engraving. The tanto can of course be fully disassembled by removing the black handle peg like most traditional Japanese blades.
Let's talk about the Hamon for a second, don't take my word for it, look at the closeup, it is just out of this world, every bit the equal in complexity and beauty as something you'd get from Don Fogg, yet quite different. I do not think I have owned a knife with a more impressive and complex Hamon, it's just unreal.
Many don't know, but Scott was Anders Hogstrom's teacher.
Lately, it seems you can't touch one of Scott's fancy Japanese Tantos for much under $2,000, they aren't cheap, but they're worth it.
Get this beautiful, mint example of a Slobodian Tanto, for the very fair, and firm price of $1550, which includes fully insured, overnight shipping, and, a $20 correctly sized black, Bill's Custom case, the best cases money can buy.
The first to email me and say they'll take it gets it.
I can NOT take PayPal on this one though, sorry, postal money order only, this way, I can spend the $ on a new knife without getting divorced.
Here are the pics, thanks for looking!
