More than a year a go I ordered a knife from Scott and he made me this knife just before he got ill. With the help of a few good people (Howard Hitchmough among others) Jim Cooper was able to shoot this knife just before he went on to the New York Knife Show. I owe Coop a multitude of thanks for making time in his very busy schedule:thumbup:

The damascus blade is made by Bill Burke (thanks to Bill and Daniel O'Malley), the handle is very rare musk ox, the stones are lapis and all the fittings are hand cast silver (lost wax method). The engraving was done by Barbara Slobodian. This knife will also be handed to me in Milan next week by Howard. For many reasons this is a very special knife to me.

Thanks for the compliments so far.

Marcel, That is beautiful. I have never seen a musk ox handle.

Jim, this is how it looks in its natural state. This specimen came from Alaska, was cured for almost twenty years and has been an exceptional find (according to Scott and his well kept source:D)

Wow Marcel, That is even better than I imagined it would be. of course I would like to have a closer look at the steel.

Marcel, that is one wonderful knife and due to circumstances will be something you will treasure forever. Great knifemaker, great knife and great collector. Congratulations and thanks for sharing Coops fine images.

That knife is a work of art. What a great group you chose to give it their touch.
Thanks for showing it.

Marcel,
Congratulations on one more beautiful knife from a true master
of custom knifemaking. This one has special added value too!

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Yes I did. I spoke to good friends of him and Barbara at the Milan Knife Show last weekend and after that I had email contact with Scott himself:) Scott is home and doing much better although he is still not out of the woods. He is still in need of therapy (physical and speech) but he is definately moving in the right direction.

What a magnificent work. Thanks for sharing.
May I ask what does "son of freedom" scribed in front of the guard mean ?
