Scottish/Norwegian Dirk by Jason Kraus

From the maker: "A new family heirloom finished. This is the project I've been working on the passed 4 weeks. It is to be presented to my clients new wife on their wedding day! He is of Scottish heritage, and she is of Norwegian descent.
The Groom wanted me to combine the two cultures into one piece. This is why there is more of a Nordic twist to the carvings on the dirks sheath. Something they wish to pass on to there first born. I am so thankful for projects like this! There isn't anything I'd rather do."

9 3/4” 1080 blade.

A very nice job there !
Historically many Norwegians moved from Norway to Scotland during the Viking age ,but I found an exception ! Looking through a book about old Norwegian costumes I saw a strange thing . There was a distinct Scottish tartan in one photo ! This was the result of a Scottish group that had moved from Scotland and settled in Norway !!
