Scour Trail, Johnson's Shut Ins, Elephant Rocks

great pictures!

-22 degrees Celcius is a tad nippy :D

Reviving an old thread here, but this past weekend the wife and I revisited the Johnson Shut-Ins. This time the sun was more favorable, and thought I would share. Pretty place if you ever get the chance to go:

Nice looking place. Thanks for sharing your adventures. I like to see places that look so unfamiliar to me.

It really is, and only a few miles away from my cabin. Maybe 20 tops. While we were there, the wife was saying that we need to plan another hike. I'm really wanting to hike the River to River Trail in southern Illinois for a week, but I don't know if that will ever happen or not.

Thank you Warrior, as usual your pictures are a feast for the eyes..... Thank you for taking me along.....

Warrior, we live in central MO. We hope to get to Johnson shut in this spring. Never been there.. Looks real scenic. Are there numerous hiking trails?

It's a beautiful area. Yes there are. Scour Trail is right next door, plus the trails right there at Johnson Shut-Ins. I believe you can hike from there to Taum Sauk, about a 14 mile hike, iirc.

Great pics as always. Beautiful country you have there. Thought it was a saber 16 in your hands until I realized it wasn't ...
