Easily removable too... problem with making it fit BOTH hip carry and scout carry without any sheath configuration and remain tight for drawing the knife/resheathing is that they are on opposite sides.
A scout carry right hand draw (RHD) is actually the same facing as a LHD hip carry, and vice-versa.
So, if you use the stock belt clip attachment the clip itself will prevent you from clear access to the knife handle. This can be fixed with a high-hip carry, but with an RC5, the glass-smasher pommel will bruise your side in the best-case scenario, worst case involves your blood and medical care!
I studied all sorts of sheath designs and stared at my knife for hours with this riddle... it's the best I could come up with - if you can offer any improvements or suggestions, they would be quite welcome - that's how this community works!
Update: New mod to straps
1) Put in brass grommets for durability
2) Changed firesteel carrier - swapped to LightMyFire Army for my sheath-carry. It's now in a section that tucks behind the strap when fastened to the sheath, pinned with a single Chicago screw. I had a Firesteel.Com Armageddon that is now on a small EDC pack.
3) Added additional set of holes on backs of straps so I could "choke up" the strap for narrower belts. The weight of the knife held it in place pretty good, but this really keeps it tight for 1-handed draw and re-sheathing.
The straps themselves are from an old rigger belt, you could use leather too if you prefer that look. I recommend not using cotton webbing, though, it will unravel - nylon can be melted and hold it's weave.
The brass grommets I just put on are from a 1/4" kit - can get them at any hardware store - they reinforce the holes in the webbing straps, but they don't get a lot of lateral pulling - I figured for longevity they couldn't hurt.
If you wanted to go "tactical" you could black out all the bright work, too.
