Scout Carry Pictures?

I have seen lots of threads and posts about scout carry. I have seen lots of pictures of scout carry sheaths. What I have not seen is many pictures of someone carrying / wearing a scout carry sheath.

I've tried my BK2 horizontally with paracord wrapped around the stock sheath, but it didn't seem like a practical way to carry. I centered the sheath on the center belt loop in the back of my jeans. The handle of the knife just stuck out really far. To me it seemed like it would get snagged on things pretty easily. I don't know if it's just my waist size, 34 inch waist jeans are loose, or the way I was doing it or what, but I just don't see it as a comfortable / practical way of carrying. A while ago someone had a post about a scout sheath for a BK9. The BK 9 is almost as long as I am wide.

If you've got some pictures scout carry in action I'd love to see them.

Thanks

You can see my 7 being carried scout in this pic.
Among other carry options I've made. :D
Scout has it's purpose, and times when it's nice to carry scout.

I scout-carry my work BK11 but probably wouldn't do it for a fullsize Becker except for maybe a BK7.

scout carry is a difficult pic without a friend. Since when i scout carry its in the small of my back. It is well balanced and sits right below the pack. its my favorite sheath setup, tied with the dangler

I think scout carry is kinda cool, but one of the big marks against it (particularly with a ccw pistol) is that if you fall on your back you've got a big ol' piece of steel across your spine. If you're wearing a pack I expect the risk is minimized. (but eventually you take the pack off).

Depends on the knife and how big you are really. I carry my esee4 that way pretty much every single day and sometimes the bk10 it fits perfect for me there. I'm short so the 9 back there is kind of ridiculous for me but I make alot of those 2 and 9 scout sheaths so there must be some jolly green giants out there that like wearing it that way. The 2 is handle heavy, you have to get the balance right for the sheath or you wind up with saggy pants syndrome.

MyWifeThinksImCrazy: I never thought of pancaking for the leg strap, That is a slick idea. I am never going to get a Brute sheath done at this rate.

Yeah I really like that sheath. I'd show you a better pic of it, but.....I'm not :D This thread is about scout sheaths.

I like to carry my RC3 cross draw everyday.
This is how I do it.

Sorry I don't have many pictures of them on, but it's kinda hard to take a pic of my own back side. :D

yeah, I think a revolver behind the spine would be bad news, but a bk11 would be just about perfect. Hm.
The tech-lock clips I use probably aren't great for this... Leather.... hmm.....
Stop giving me ideas, I have enough to do!

I don't like scout carry. I mean, it works, but really only if you spend alot of time on your belly. When I will be sheathing and unsheathing my knife alot, which is most of the time I'm afield, scout carry just sucks. I like a high carry, strong side, or drop down strong side better.

That said, when I'm laying down shooting, I carry my BK14 in a scout carry, but no pics. Sorry.

A friend of mine sliced himself pretty good trying to resheath a scout carry knife under stress. What was he doing? He was clearing shooting lanes for deer hunting the next day and a nice buck came along and broadsided him.
I think Lofty Wiseman had it best when he recommended a low dangler style carry, so if you fall, it won't break your ribs, and it's relatively easy to resheath safely under stress.

One of the nicest looking leather sheaths out there. ;)

If Flexxx would take a pic of the one that I actually sent him......That one is the first one like that I made, and it's the one that I kept. The one that Flexxx has is far nicer than the one that he keeps posting.

Where's that fancy new camera that you've got Flexxx? ;)
