Scout Knife Memorial GAW 2022

I just saw this; one of my favorite giveaways! Keeping memories alive is such a great and lost art and an annual giveaway is a fine way to do it.

I’d love an entry and as for nominations, there is a family at our church with a young man who will be arriving at an age for a knife and I’d love to be able to give his dad this knife to be his first one.
 
I’d nominate my 5y/o. Can’t promise to give it to him right away, but as he matures he’ll certainly get it. & probably any of my knives he wants too. Lol.

I won I cant believe it.

Last time I won was at a Harley Davidson show when I wont a tee shirt,turns out I was the only one who entered. 😄

The knife was received yesterday! As soon as I got it, I honed the edge a bit.

I gave it to my daughter when she came home from school and she put it right to use! Cutting carrots and cucumbers just for the heck of it! 😁

This is my daughter holding the knife but she didn't want to be in the picture...she is a bit shy I guess lol

She realized that the bottle opener and the awls have locks and she couldn't have been more excited! She kept opening the awl and stabbing the phone books with it saying "look! it doesn't fold" Don't worry, she is not an angry person 🤣

Here is a comparison shot of her previous knife (which she'll continue to carry I'm sure due to its size) and the cub scout! (BTW, that is a lanyard that she made for herself :thumbsup: )

Thank you again for the GAW ! I don't think my daughter will let me borrow that knife for anything (except maybe for some photo ops).
 
Yay! I'm glad it made it to you so quickly. I actually forgot to send you the tracking number until after you had already posted this (d'oh!).

In any case, my daughter also loves the locking awl on the cub scout knife. Whenever we get shipping boxes we don't need she also likes taking advantage of the puncturing powers of the punch. 😆
 
Alright! I've gotten word that all the recipients have in fact received their knives (boy, international shipping really adds to the complexity, I actually had one box come back to me for changes to the customs declaration). But I am thankful for another successful GAW.

Don't have a picture but my daughter has gotten a lot of 'fun' use for her knife! Don't have a picture but recently, she wanted to carve up 'soap' (you know, like in the YouTube videos). I gave it a good wash/dry/oil, passed it through the Lansky turn box sharpener few times and it is still good as new!
