Scout knife

No . We just discussed this recently at around the last few days of Dec . . Buck did mfg. some knives for Boy Scouts that have the scout emblem stamped on the blade but not a Boy Scout pattern . Buck still does special scout stamped editions . DM

not traditional however-
the 500 (which is out of production) is still used
to supply orders for Eagle Scouts
it is a standard 500 except for the
scout related engraving which is on the bolsters
you have to provide the eagle scout data to order..
one of our more well known formites ordered his years after he was awarded his Eagle Rank
perhaps he will post a pict of his when he feels better..
 
I have never ordered one, you guys think I ought to for the heck of it. One time Goose and I compared badges....were about even......300Bucks

I wanted to order one BUT I felt like I was kinda taking advantage of the BUCK's since they sell those to the young Eagle Scouts I am pretty sure at a loss..
I am an old Eagle Scout like some of you guys it sounds like! Man it would be kinda nice to have one though...I was a Boy Scout in the early to mid 80's when BUCK made the offical Boys Scout Knife. I use to keep it in my Large optional BuckMaster pouch.I loved that red knife but I swapped it out for a Model 186 titanium take apart the minute I saw one for sale at Ace hardware...

Let me encourage you to do so, it is a part of your past and would be a tie for someone to remember you by and remember how you lived your life. I also feel that twindge of thinking that was the past and Buck was rewarding the newly awarded. But, there was Goose (akaBuckaholic) , big,tough,bearded, Hog rider and you could tell it meant something special to him. (Right Gooser) That I bet is as good a reason there is for Buck to be happy to do it for you or anyone. Get one for yourself you earned it back when, you can show it to others an tell what the experience has meant even into your adult life. W-W-W 300Bucks

i can tell you buck is jest as glad for you to get it now or way back then
the rank is bestrode for life..and does not expire!
yes you all should order one as you are all brothers in more ways then one!
 
beat around the bush ..
they did both boy scouts and cub scouts
plastic handles with photo etch on blade
some blades found in hard metal frame now and then
buck does NOT make an official boy scout knife now
that has to be licensed by the BSA..
of course some cub & scout units
dont allow any kind of knife to be carried as edc or used at all..
 
I wonder if they can use a hatchet?

How do they cut wood for their campfires?

What is this world coming to when a boy scout can't make a campfire?
