I am just curious as to what you makers do with your leftover pieces. Do you save up and sell for scrap or do you make something with. Just curious. Thanks.

A good bit of the scrap in my shop is damascus and it all goes into a milk crate. One of these days I'll pile a bunch of it back into a can and make a "damesscus" billet out of it

I've had several longer strips 3/8" to 1/2" wide in my leftover can. I made scapels with several different blade shapes. My version of xacto knives. Mostly use them for leather work.

I have been using my few scrap pieces to test my home heat treating, and just beating on them to see how they move when hot.

Mine is usually used as bits to forge weld into tomahawks..

I save the more expensive stuff like Ti and s30v, but I toss the rest in the recycle bin. You never know when you will need a small piece for something, like a broken tensioner on a chainsaw. . . .

I make smaller knives out of the scraps. Sold a few of them this weekend.
