I am just curious as to what you makers do with your leftover pieces. Do you save up and sell for scrap or do you make something with. Just curious. Thanks.

A good bit of the scrap in my shop is damascus and it all goes into a milk crate. One of these days I'll pile a bunch of it back into a can and make a "damesscus" billet out of it :)

I've had several longer strips 3/8" to 1/2" wide in my leftover can. I made scapels with several different blade shapes. My version of xacto knives. Mostly use them for leather work.

I have been using my few scrap pieces to test my home heat treating, and just beating on them to see how they move when hot.

I save the more expensive stuff like Ti and s30v, but I toss the rest in the recycle bin. You never know when you will need a small piece for something, like a broken tensioner on a chainsaw. . . .
