anyone have totally useless bits of cpm vanadium steels (3, 9, 30, 90, etc) lying around, from cutting out profiles & such. I'd like to get my hands on some for some experimenting. Really small bits, or grinding dust, if it's not mixed up, I would need a consistent composition to mess with.

Cool, do you have the composition by chance. I read that it 'might' have some vanadium. I get a 'file under revision' page at crusteel...

It is the same composition as 154CM. The rumor of Vanadium was innacurate.

i have a load icecream pail of cut offs in cpm154 that im not shure waht to do with yet

what you got planned i was thinking about canning damasscus cpm154 adn cpm3v

wanted to see what kind of dendrites I could get with the high carbon and vanadium content
