Scrap stainless suitable for blades?

I just finished my first knife. Trust me when I tell you. If you wind up grinding out something that is even close to a decent knife and can't HT it and at least use it as a beater blade, you will kick yourself. Just get some 1080, pick a simple design and GO SLOW and and you may surprise yourself.

jsut remember proper steel and heat treated blade no matter how ugly is still a knife a blade that cant hold an edge is jsut a letter opener not matter how nice it looks
