Just wanted to share an awesome experience I had with getting a knife replaced under warranty.

Two years ago I purchased a Scrap Yard knife off the secondary market. It was an honest user that had been beaten on and recoated at least once.

Anyways I continued to beat on the knife HARD for 2 years using as a go to beater knife. I also modified it by adding a choil- something that would completely void the warranty on any other knife.

A few weeks ago when I was sharpening it (at this point it was about 3 milimeters had been sharpened away over the years) I noticed some bubbles on the edge. Thinking it was irregular I sent the knife into the shop to have it checked out.

A few days later I got an Email from Renee saying it was a manufacturing defect and they would replace my knife for free. Exactly one week later I have the new knife in hand.

It just does not get any better than the Scrap Yard. This is a knife that had a manufacturing defect and was beat on for YEARS and still never broke. It was battoned through massive logs, cleared brush, split hundreds upon hundreds of pieces of firewood, carved, processed animals, and even was thrown before and still never suffered any major damage. And all of this was done with a "defective" knife.

Now take into account the fact that it was recoated by someone outside their shop, modified, and had been owned and used by countless people and the Scrap Yard STILL honored their amazing warranty and gave me a new knife in Two weeks FLAT.

Simply amazing. I am a Scrap Yard customer for life. Few companies live up to the guarantees they make. Even fewer surpass them. the Scrap Yard went above and beyond the call of duty and more than fulfilled their warranty.

Yep.... you will get no arguments out of me about Renee (who goes out of her way to help us poor helpless Aussies with endless probelms ....(well... problems because we buy so many bloody knives and are always having multipal orders shipped together) and the crew there.... none at all.
