Good heavens. That's a beast of a bayonet right there. I bet your zero drops when you have that thing mounted! :D

Very cool! I love my Regulator.

It mounts just like the M7 bayonet I used for parts. The pommel is slightly farther away from the guard/muzzle ring than it was on the M7 bayonet, so the muzzle ring lines up with the second band on the compensator instead of the first. Doesn't affect anything though.

The weight does feel as if it'd affect distance shots, but at 200 yards it didn't make a difference in an ISMT (Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Trainer). I'm satisfied that if I were actually in a situation where my bayonet was fixed, It won't be an issue.

Your mod is the only Regulator I would consider buying. I don't imagine yours is for sale, however.

Very well done!

Awesome!!! Absolutely Awesome.

How secure is the handle mount from the scavenged Bayonet?

You need to post this on the Busse sub forum so the guys over there can take a look.

If you have any work in progress pics, or explanation of what it takes to do this mod, I am sure it would be appreciated.

It wouldn't be right for me to point to another forum. But there is one Busse family manufacturer who doesn't maintain a subforum here. If it helps, he's the Busse family member who manufactured the knife JJ modded. Find his forum and you'll have access to all the info you're looking for. :)

I think you would be ok to link to the Scrapyard discussion forum.

I will have to head over and see if my search fu skills are strong enough.

I have an account over there, but for some reason don't spend much time on it.

Thanks

It is extremely secure. It would take a lot of work to get it off with out dissembling it way it was put together. The piece of steel from Scrap Yard is unaltered and just fits into a modded handle that is made from the tang of the bayonet.

I see the rest of your post has been answered, so I'll let you find that info over in the Scrap Yard forums.

Why is that? Is there any particular reason you don't like the Regulator?
Yes. I'm not a fan of rubber guards on military knives. That's why I absolutely LOVE what JJ did to his Reg. As far as I'm concerned, he turned his Regulator into the knife it should have been all along.

I posted the original post from Scrap Yard forums in the Busse forums here. Had to take out a few images due to this forums limits, but they weren't important ones.

I have to agree. I think metal guards are needed. I just wish this one extended out a little farther.

Interestingly, when Dan first announced the original Test Team version of the Regulator, the very first comment posted by anyone had to do with the need to reinforce the guard. After that, the unreinforced guard became a point of such serious contention that at least one individual was banned from the forum for voicing his objection to it a little too strenuously. Fortunately, that person wasn't me. :) I decided to take a different tactic. I spent my money elsewhere.
