picked up that and this diamond plate for $6. 36lbs total.

the diamond plate im using for my forge door. just cutting off what i need and then take the rest to scrap it. its about 1/8" think. Darren, look for an order of Inswool from me when i get my tax return.

so how did i do on the find? vise just needed some WD-40 on the swivel base to loosen it up and the jaws are already smooth so it will be easier to mount some leather to.

I'm so jealous of you. They won't allow me to browse on any scrapyards I can find here in Georgia. I musta called 20 of em. Nope. Insurance rules...

this place wouldnt cut the steel down so i had to get the whole piece. i just need to cut out the circle and then take the rest back the next time im at moms house. this place is just around the corner. you see something you like its all or nothing.

i would have fainted if i had seen an anvil out there. i did see some ball bearings that i kn ow some of yall would love to make damascus out of. just dont ask me to tell you what the alloy was. HHEHEHEHEEH!!!!

Sweeet find indeed congrats on that. I got lucky in the anvil department after doing some landscaping for a friends mother. She was getting her property ready to sell so in addition to the yard she was cleaning up the garage. IN the pile going to the scrap yard was an old 110lb. anvil. Reluctant to take her money I told her I'd take the anvil instead.
