scraper construction

I've been reading a bit about makers using scrapers. does anyone know about suitable steels, tempers and the best shapes for scrapers, I'm especially interested in the cross section shape of an effective scraper.
Any help would be great!

Don Fogg has a reference to making a sen on his web site. I made one out if spring steel and guessed at the HT. I got it right it works great. I am assuming you are talking about the scraper (sen) used for removing steel?
