Scrapper 5 LE -- The new Basic 5??

But I think the S5LE is the best mid-size Resiprene-C/reduced tang knife ever to come out of the Busse family of companies, hands down. Further, I don't think you can improve on its performance in this size range by going to a full-tang/attached slab design. You can get heavier, but you can't get any better for the kind of general utility/hunter work this knife will excel at, IMO.

Yes that hopefully will sum up my view as well when my knife arrives:thumbup:

I particularly like the light weight aspect....a great asset for a belt knife when hiking or hunting:thumbup:

"Thank you" to all for your input on your likes/dislikes on the S5 LE and the other knives. The handle is a bit longer than the Basic 5, so hopefully the S5's will fit well for those with large'ish hands.

Good question, to which I don't have a good answer. Except to say that having a spare of something I really like is sort of like insurance against it not being available from the maker for replacement at some future time. Like future availability would ever be an issue with a Bussekin product. ;) :D :D

All measurements taken at the ricasso.
Basic 5 = 0.256"
Scrapper 5 LE = 0.170"
Bog Dog D2 = 0.140"
