Scratch what I said before about my choices for my new EDC. I have really been sucked in by the Pro tech Runt or Stinger. just have to decide which to get. Any suggestions?

Please check your law's before purchasing and carrying an auto as an edc. There are a lot of designs out there that have almost the same speed in opening but not the legal ramifications should you ever need to use your knife in a self defense situation. Also remember the fact that an auto has a different impact on sheeple then other knives.

Both the Runt and Stinger are very small (under 2" blade). I wouldn't think that would draw any more attention than a larger spring assist.

Also, the Runt 2 doesn't fire as hard, so it is quieter.

I am in Oregon so it is legal for me to carry autos as long as the are exposed.

I think I have decided on the Stinger...bead blast blade with pewter handle. Now thw only problem is that every store seems to be out of stock. Does anyone know someone with them in stock?

The stinger is more pointed and likely to chip the point if twisted than the shape of the Runt. Since these are both made of quality steel I doubt it is much of an issue.

I have never had any problems with my Runt which might actually have a little more cutting edge because of the shape of the blade than the Stinger even though they are supposedly the same length. Blade length is not necessarily cutting edge length.

If you want a great small somewhat pointed Protech check out the Godson.

Too late on the Godson advice. I already bought one last week. The satin blade with maple burl handle. I love it and that is what turned me on to the pro techs.
