Scratching CRK's

Does anybody here besides me enjoy a nice used, scratched up CRK? I'm not talking dropping it on concrete, but just scratches and wear marks all over it. My sebenza seems to come up with random scratches on the scales which i have no idea where they came from. The pocket clip is trashed, paint scrapes and such on it. I love the look of this knife more and more as it gets worn. I always wanted to find that one knife i would carry for years and years and know where each mark came from. I love when my all black bladed/clipped knives get worn around the edges, i just think it looks cool and tells a story. I see some people on the forums (no offense to any of you, i understand where you come from), where the slightest scratch or imperfection really annoys them to the point where they trade the knife off. After using this knife for months, i appreciate it's build quality. But i appreciate it more because it's a 455$ knife that has evidence of use, and i think that says a lot. Anybody have pictures of their used knife? I'm sure pictures won't flatter the usage marks on this knife because it hides them well unless they're lit up properly, but i'm sure the clip will stand out.

None that show on my phone camera. But I can see under close examination.

its an edc too, im betting the leather sheath helps keep it scuff free.

I don't mind scratches on the knife that I EDC, but scratches on ones I want to collect does get to me a little bit I must admit.

scratches never bothered me much..my large sebbie has seen plenty of use, been scotch brighted a couple of times, hand sanded twice now ( in progression) ..no deep scratches or major digs on it .. just clearing away the old scratches and user marks for new ones .. it HAD a blued thumb stud but now it's more like a flesh-polished silver tone .. still love it and it sounds harsh .. but it's still in really good shape and locks up like it did when I first got it.

I don't mind it at all and probably do quite like it. :p This knife has had its share of knocks and scrapes. :)

Yeah, Sebbies are some of the best for that "worn look" due to the full Ti scales. I made the mistake of selling a Large Sebbie Classic double lug to another forum member a few months back. I carried that one for years and years and broke it in well.... stupid me!

I like the worn, scratched look. But something about the chalky feel of the blasted ti gives me the heebie jeebies. Same with certain aluminum knives, like the BM940. It's like the sound of nails on a chalkboard in my hand. So I scotchbrite mine. It's pretty hard to scratch them up once they're scotchbrited.

Love the little wear marks on a Seb.

In fact, next large Sebenza I get my hands on will be getting stonewashed:)

I LOVE the worn, scratched, used look of my Sebs. I will only buy the Sebs that have the sandblasted finish--I don't like the satin finish or the look of character marks in satin finishes--to each his own!

^^^ I agree, I don't mind the marks on my blasted knives but the scratches on the polished surfaces drives me crazy!

I use mine till they get scratched to the point of aggravation for me....then they are broke down and glass bead blasted. Brand new all over again without that gritty sandblasted feeling.

I love worn knives. Especially blade coatings as someone mentioned.

I'm not a big fan of how easily scratched the finish is on the Sebenza though. If I ever settle down with one that I'm certain I'll never want to trade or sell I'm guessing my viewpoint will change.

In any case the finish can be upgraded with a fast application of glass and air. ;)

Your knives look great.
