as always, i go to my 3.5" xm-18 for edc. it has become a regular thing. i just got home after being out with friends, so i decided to get settled in; took my knife out and started to play with it. i heard something clicking coming from it. ive never heard this sound before on my knife(as it shouldnt happen lol). look what i ran into:

i don't baby this knife by any means, but never have i seen this happen on any of my other knives. it has never been taken apart. everything rules out why this would actually happen other than the obvious. have any of you guys had issues with screws coming loose on your hinderers? ive never really heard of such thing before. unfortunately, i don't own allen wrenches, so i'm gonna have to retire it for now until i can get the proper tool to tighten it up. :(

Did you seriously just make a thread about a screw coming loose on a knife? Send it to me and I will tighten it for you young lady.

Get the appropriate Allen wrench or Torx bit. Degrease the threads, dab on some blue Loctite and put it back together. Do the same for the other screws, too.

yeah, i guess there are a lot of useless threads out there. figured id just throw it out there... no need to send it to get it 'fixed'.

Never had it happen on my XM but have on other knives. Might as well get a set of Torx bits, you will eventually need them anyway.

Sorry, I had to ;) Like Ed said, just get the tool online (wera or wiha are best) , clean the screw up, then put some thread locker on there and all will be well.

Do not put lock tight on that screw. I believe Hinderer allows for it on the pivot but they take issue with it anywhere else.

This is getting out of hand...people really need to think before they post....

i don't know... i think that is a bit of an overreaction. we are on here for entertainment purposes, after all. i would have got some loctite, but i was advised otherwise(saving me the hassle...)

thanks guys.

Wow....

You guys are harsh.

The guy simply made a thread about one of his handle screws coming out, curious if it was a one time thing or not. You guys are quick to pounce on him for making a thread about this, but not many folks are saying anything about the bunch of you cranking up your post count by being dicks.

Congratulations fellas.

You need to send the knife back to Rick for repair.

I have had this happen to my XMs when changing scales, I use use an Allen wrench to loosen the screws, I send it back to Rick so he can tighten the screws for me, serious business having no common sense.
