I have never used anything other than pins, but would like to order some of these type rivets. What do you all use?And where would is the best place to get them?
Thanks,Keith

Corby Bolts. I have gotten them from Pop's Knife supply and from a friend who had some. also I believe most of the knife making supply places have them. I believe Alpha Knife supply has some.

How thick are the rivets, so to speak? How thick does the handle material have to be in order to get them flush?

Also, how is one of these Rivet drill bits used? Does it do the tang, or do you use it to drill the hole for the rivet, countersink it, then matchmark the hole for the tang?

don't forget you will need a step drill bit.

when i use them i put some thred lock on them , super glue was to fast for this old man

I found that the step drill is a super tight fit. The bolts are 1/4" and the drill is 1/4" and is such a tight fit that I'm afraid it can crack wood scales at times. If the bolt head is too tight on ivory it will stress crack it too. I took and F drill and had one made. The "F" is a couple thousands more diameter than the 1/4". Perfect fit. Cost was $14.
