So as we're all becoming "less young": how many of you guys are wishing that there was a place where we could replace all those tiny screws that keep getting lost?
The first one of us that can train a mouse to sniff out and fetch lost screws will be worshipped by the rest of us...

I have a few with titanium screws and that creates a challenge, but the majority are not, and my magnet has bailed me out more than once.
I usually take apart knives above a magnetic or silicone tray (or both).
Knives I'm not familiar with, or that are prone to grenade when disassembled, are now taken apart inside a plastic bag. Top Tip.

I could start my own knife and gun repair shop with the amount of stuff that has sprung loose over 4 decades of "tinkering". If only someone could find all those wee bits, that is.
It wasn’t all that long ago I dumped out the vacuum cleaner looking for a detent ball.
Found it by the way.

You should see some of my orders from the gun shops. All springs and roll pins and detents… I will never be caught without again! (Or go through a vacuum cleaner bag again)

The telescoping magnet is a great tool for lost screws. Keeps you off your knees.

Another trick I use a lot is to use a bright flashlight. Put the light way down low shining across the floor. Even the smallest screws will cast a large shadow making them easier to see.
