Screwed...

I pick up these boxes of screws from Harbor Freight, one of a variety of small wood screws, the other of a selection of machine screws. They aren't great quality, but it sure as hell beats going to the hardware store when I just need one 1/2" #8 screw during rush hour. If there is a box of common knife screw sizes, I want one for that moment when a screw screams "FREEDOM" and makes for the hills.

Another trick I use a lot is to use a bright flashlight. Put the light way down low shining across the floor. Even the smallest screws will cast a large shadow making them easier to see.

I am pretty young for an old guy, but I have learned that one too!

I maintain a wide assortment of mini hardware. Here's some of mine-

I buy from a variety of sources.

I really like those containers you’ve used.
I use the same divided plastic box and small zip lock bags.

I just use the same method I used to find my kids legos or the dogs bones, walk around bare foot in the middle of the night and you will find them!
But when you've been a diabetic for 57 years: the Doctors frown on walking around barefoot...
In fact t: I am currently trying to heal an ulceration on my left foot.

Ok forget everything I wrote! I hope you heal well Sir.

No problem, Bro'..
How would you have known.
Wen I was younger: I would have used your tactics.
And thanks!
It's been healing since March, 2020. We started out with a foot full of gas gangrene.
Now I'm working on a 1" round hole...

A prayer said for you.

Much appreciated...
DON'T open this picture if you're squeamish!!
This is where it was after a Month of healing...(April 2020)
So a 1" hole is a HUGE improvement!

it's really an outrage imho, how the sugar industry has played the system over the last 40+ years and managed to get docs & the fda to look the other way

diabetes has gone from about 1% in 1960 upto over 10% of all people in the USA, with 34.5% of people being 'pre-diabetic'

and the truly sad part, is even today, sugar & its' 50+ names aren't being identified as the cause: https://www.cdc.gov/diabetes/basics/risk-factors.html
'obesity and race and genes?' wow...

tax payer dollars hard at work.... for the sugar industry

easy to make an immediate difference by cutting out all soda, and super concentrated juices...
sweets & processed foods which add insane amounts... just need to stop

lots of good documentaries to watch on youtube etc if you're interested

...anyway, that is my contribution about how we've been screwed :P

So as we're all becoming "less young": how many of you guys are wishing that there was a place where we could replace all those tiny screws that keep getting lost?
The first one of us that can train a mouse to sniff out and fetch lost screws will be worshipped by the rest of us...

Open stuff up/put back together inside a clear plastic bag. I use some thick plastic bags that I bought to keep my concert t-shirts in. In the photo below I'm putting the sear assembly back into a Savage 110E bolt action rifle. Anyone that has done it before knows what a PITA it is. There's a sear bushing that I still haven't found yet somewhere around here.

I think it's the high fructose corn syrup.
