it can be done but if you over tighten them they'll strip out before you realize it.I'd advise using some sort of nut on the opposite end to secure screws.Early Benchmades were threaded into G10 but all the current knives use a small nut. I take their hint.
I've been carrying around G10 handled folders for a couple of years and the threads have not stripped out of the G10. On the contrary I have stripped the heads on several screws because I have overtightened them in the G10. Must be related to how the tapping was done.
obviously..part of the solution is how thick the g10 is....thicker is better...smaller finer thread is better too (more threads per inch...like 0-80 as compared to 2-56..the second number is threads per inch...i always thread the g10 AND the ti liner when i put clips on knives...works very well....if you do it right there is no problem whatsoever.. make sure you torque them down well and grind them perfectly flat on the inside..i always use three screws...usually 2-56.
