Screws?

Have the 3" and 3.5" always had different screw sizes where the scales are? I just noticed that my hinderer tools “bit” doesn’t fit my new 3” XM
 
I own a tool box or two full or a wide varity of tools. I feel strongly that all should put together their own tool kit(s) for their hobbies. A set of Allen, torx, and varity of smaller drivers of all types should be in a knife enthusiasts kit.
A lot of home improvent and hardware stores, even large retailers have some tool offerings that can come in very handy.
 
I agree with Need2know on the tool kit. I was playing around with my XM 18 3.5 non flipper yesterday,change the pocket clip from tip up to tip down to see which method suits me the best. And to my amazment both screws were acutually loose! Well I tried tip down, not for me on the non flipper, then re-installed it back as tip up configuration, however this time a drop of Lock-tight was placed on each screw before tightening down, glade I checked.
 
when I worked on my knifes I went down to sears and I think they have the best screwdrives for that use on knifes. alot of other knife dealers at the gun and knife shows look at what I had and went out and got the same thing.
