I'll start by saying I don't want to sell this knife. It is the finest folder I have ever owned, and I have owned a lot of amazing folders. It's big and beefy in all the right places and every bit as precise as one would expect from Mark and the team at Carothers. Many know my wife has had some health problems (which she is on the back side of now thankfully), but between that and the holiday season with school closures and increased dad duties I just haven't been working as much. I have talked to a number of people on pricing suggestions because as someone who does business with many of you I want to be fair, but I am also only selling this to help out my family. I can tell you I am pricing it below every number that's been suggested.. If it doesn't sell it will go back into my carry rotation.

Basic terms:

- No monkey business - I am happy to discuss details or send more pictures but the first commitment gets it
- UPS 2nd Day shipping is on me to US addresses, Alaska or Hawaii will be USPS Priority
- I will give a $100 discount for a no fee/no notes payment (Zelle preferred, also take Venmo or PayPal)
- No anonymous buyers, I reserve the right to not do business with you if you act shady

If you want the transaction to be discreet that's fine, you can email me at chad@pirtlemade or text me at 330.992.9692, you are also welcome to claim it here in the thread with a PM follow-up. I'm nothing if not flexible ;)

The knife:

I bought this from Mark at Blade Show 2021 when we were all using those extended grabby sticks to hand each other knives and money. This knife is from his second run of folders and I believe there were only 5 or 6 made in this batch (the first was about the same number). Mark told me there were a lot of improvements made on this batch and it shows. I have had the knife apart once (more on that later) and every post is press fit and incredibly precise. The back spacer is vintage Westinghouse and sets off the package nicely.

I have had the knife apart once. I was careful to use proper fitting tools and on close inspection you cannot see any deformation of the fasteners or evidence it was disassembled. My only nit with the knife (Mark and I have discussed this and he's seen/liked what I did) was that the flipper trigger was a little slick and my finger would slip off. I did not want to make major changes so I used a low speed wheel (not Dremel) to mill a small divot into the trigger just to add some grab. It has been blended and finished to look like original. It works wonderfully and fires strong and true every time, and looks integral to the original design.

I have carried this knife and used it quite a bit, it has a couple of superficial marks in the blade finish but nothing significant. I have also run it across my white Spyderco Sharpmaker stones a couple of times just to hone the edge.

No surprises here. I know most of the people with one of Mark's folders and am pretty confident you won't see many coming up for sale again soon, if ever.

I can text full resolution un-cropped pictures if desired, just remember the first to commit rule.

(SOLD) Price: $3,350 (SOLD)
