The base metal for the scales is bronze with silver maple trees, shibichi leaf and leaf canopy, two copper leaves, and three 14 karat yellow gold leaves. The liners are textured 304 stainless, blade and back spring are 1095. The blade is differentially heat treated with a nice hamon.
The tab on the blade makes it possible to open this knife with one hand it also makes it feel more secure since it does not have a lock.
Every aspect of this knife is handmade by me I even alloyed and drawed out by hand the silver gold and Shibichi. The textures and designs are created using chisels, punches, and gravers. I finish the blade and the back spring by polishing to 2000 grit, then etching them in an acid. I then polish with various polishing compounds. This brings out the hamon and exposes the structures inside the metal. Unfortunately, this finish is very difficult to photograph, since the textures on the metal are very subtle.
