SD recommendation for my sister

I'm with Charlie Mike- Kerambit
It's compact, intimidating, forward/reverse grip compatble. Emerson does a training DVD. But most important to the female SD is secure. She won't drop it and it will not be taken away from her. Even a novice can inflict some quick devastating body trauma. Coincidentally, it is also a utility knife in Indonesia. Best regards. BTW: You must post pictures.

Unless your trade is cutting lino, a Kerambit used in conflict is a one way ticket to jail, IMO.

As is most any other knife, unless there is some training involved. That is why I stress the importance of getting trained so much.

As retired LEO, I missed the anti-Kerambit laws. I never took anyone to jail for carrying a Karambit. DOES the OP live in the UK? The Kerambit is under three inches which is under length restriction for the States that still have them. Not listed in the Federal guide line for restricted dirth and dagger legistion. The "manner of use or intended use" for most of the world is a utility knife. I think if you try to buy a Pc knife, it will exclude most Emerson's. Additionally, not many Pc knives make the best sd knives. Most LEOs will look at an sd situation and not take the female victim to jail.

- The circumstances in which you are using the knife is going to play a bigger factor than the type of knife. I can't imagine an U.S. jury convicting a female who is defending herself against a male. Especially if the state has some sort of Castle Doctrine.
