I concur with waverave... I whittle a lot and in my opinion the GEC 38 English Whittler is like the Rolls Royce of whittling knives.
That being said, I do also have a lot of Case knives and have always been happy enough with them for the money I paid. Surprisingly I don't have a Case Seahorse yet but I do really love the Swayback Gent and the wharncliffe version of the Mini Copperhead for small pocket whittlers.
Rough Ryder also has a Seahorse style knife that I've happily done tons of whittling with but oddly they just call it the "swayback"... maybe to avoid copyright issues with Case. Either way, it's a great whittler too and cost like $11 or something.
