It's a Seal Pup made in the same manufacturing facility as their Seal Pup Elite

Does that mean it's made of AUS6 as opposed to AUS8?

If I remember right, the Taiwan made ones have AUS8 steel

Yes, the Taiwan ones are AUS8.

i know people might hate me for this but i liked the old seal pup although it was not exactly the best knife design the choke up feature proved handy.
