Sealing white macarda scales question

i have a excellent buck 112 custom that has white linen scales and i love the look but they get dirty very easy and i have to use a cleaner to bring them back to normal--can i seal these with maybe a tung oil or something like it--to stop this problem

Clean it with a paste of baking soda and water. Dry and apply paste wax or neutral shoe polish. You will have to re wax it periodically. Don't use Rennaissance Wax- it is meant for objects that are not handled often.
