Searching for 1st spyderco blade, whats my best shot for satisfaction?

Just curious but why do people want to abuse their knives??

I can't speak for everyone on their definition of abuse but I certainly consider my daily activities whilst picking my edc for the day. What I throw in my pocket for yard work or a shop day is certainly different than what I take along on a date night or holiday trip.

Very good point. I think the definition of knife abuse will vary from person to person. For me, the only abuse my knives get are verbally when they give me attitude, but they have been behaved for the most part.

I have to concur with the Endura. Great little knife, and very reasonably priced. Honestly, maybe don't spend too much on your first Spydie. I got the PM 2 recently, and it is a great knife. But I don't know that I would have appreciated it as much if I hadn't experienced a lesser knife first. Get yourself a simple workhorse, then move up in the world baby!

It looks like you've settled on the Bradley, and I say good call.

I'm kinda of the mindset to save a little more and get what you want rather than settling for something else. Back when I was thinking about getting my first Spyderco (already had a Persistence acquired in a trade that got the Spydie addiction started), I had settled on the Delica. Went to the store to handle one, liked it, saw some Para 2's there also, looked it over, handled it, fell instantly in love with it. What I thought I wanted changed to something else twice the price and higher quality, so I got what I wanted and never regretted it. Actually bought two Para 2's before ever getting around to that Delica. Love them all.

In other words, this won't be your last Spydie. :)

My first Spydie was a Paramilitary 2, it's just so versatile (edc, tactical, survival). Little bit pricey and I find s30v steel to be a bit hard to sharpen but it's an awesome knife and I would recommend it.
