I'm pretty set on the ruike but out of curiosity if you have a pic handy and a price I'd check it out.IMO for a <$100 knife there are few to no better options than Kizer or Civivi. Since you mentioned being interested in non plastic-like scales the Brisa Enzo Birk 75 comes in several different configurations and is a solid knife. I have one with green micarta and D2 with a Scandi grind that I’d be willing to part with.
I’ll secondI have but I didn't find any I liked really. I don't want a plastic feel if possible. I want something metal or possibly wood. I miss my old bone handle case but it's just not modern enough anymore.
Very good advice, I agree. But for the same blade size as the Grip, he’ll spend twice the $$ for Syiderco, than for new scales… And besides most of the Spyderco models in this size category are mostly LW and I think the Grip is much stronger at the pivot than those.Spend the coin, get a Spyderco in k 390 and call it a day, your welcome
That Buck does look very nice.Nothing wrong with the Ruike. Great knife for the price.
I was going to mention maybe the new Buck 112 Slim Pro. S30V steel and G10 scales. Plus one of the best warranties in the business.
I do really like that recon 1. I'd probably get it if it was axis, liner, frame or button lock. I just don't always have the ability to use 2 hands to shut my knife if I'm holding something up or climbing.I can t believe that someone asks for recommendations for a durable, quality, hard work knife for less than 100 dollars and no one has mentioned.Cold Steel.
I just looked at one vendor that I ve used several times, and found a CS Code 4 for sale for $99. An American Lawman for $94 dollars! And for $119 you can get the 4 inch Recon1, a tremendous outdoor work knife. All with s35vn steel, and Cold Steel is known for good heat treatments for their blades. My Cold Steel working knives have lasted for years of moderately heavy outdoor use. High quality for the money. Very strong, durable knives.
I don't know if you've ever had a Cold Steel but their backlocks arent that hard to close one handed once you get used to them. And depending on the model they're fairly smooth.I do really like that recon 1. I'd probably get it if it was axis, liner, frame or button lock. I just don't always have the ability to use 2 hands to shut my knife if I'm holding something up or climbing.
I would never have a folder that couldn t be opened and closed one handed.I do really like that recon 1. I'd probably get it if it was axis, liner, frame or button lock. I just don't always have the ability to use 2 hands to shut my knife if I'm holding something up or climbing.
Just throwing out another brand for variety, qsp penguin with frag ti scales and 154-cm you can get now for $110 I believe, cool little knife

Heck why stop there...treat yourself to a RocksteadNot exactly under $100 dollars but I say get a Sebenza. In a few years you wont care about the money but you'll still have an epic knife.
