Searching for my perfect EDC: help

The reason I am looking for a knife under 3" is due to legal carry issues. This cuts out quite a few choices of knives.

I see quite a few knives at around 3.25" such as the Benchmade Mini Dejavoo which I like the looks of.

Does anyone have any knowledge of how strict the police, etc. are concerning knife length if for example I were to be carrying a 3.25" knife when the law in my state has 3" folder as the max?

I certainly agree where you are coming from.

I find the mini grip fine - and was only last night putting it beside the delica to see the difference in thickness - a couple of mm if that. That is fine.

The full size grip is however qute thick - and I would liek to bable to swap its scales for flatter ones.

However the blade size you mentioned point at the minigrip anyway - which to me is the better package.

I very much like my ken onion vapor - too bad it is not of good materials. The leek also has mnay dedicated followers but I like the belly in the blade of the grip versus the leek and most spyderco knives

The other big issue is the axis lock on benchmades (griptillians and others) - try it before buying something - it is very very nice

I ended up ordering both a Benchmade Mini-Griptilian w/ 154CM and a Spyderco Caly3 w/ CF and ZDP-189. I'm sure they will both suit me well and will last me quite a while. Maybe later I can get adventurous and have some after market mods done if needed.

What about this Boker Hyper Black:

Also a very good option and you cant beat the price!

I think that the CLB Boker knives are awesome knives and the absoolute best in that price range $20-30!

Both good

Wood good - let us know how you go.

I prefer the grip but aspects of the Delica are growing on me

Did you ever consider a liner lock slippy? Like the Queen mini hunter in D2. People don't hardly notice slippies when you pull them out in public.

byrds are excellent, especially those with a stainless handle, if you don't mind the extra weight

Tom,

No I had not considered a slippey. I'm just now learning that term. I have a couple of small ones that I carry from time to time. I just don't like to carry things in my pants pockets especially a larger knife as it just seems to get in the way when it slides around. I wouldn't mind using one if I could find some sort of small sheath or something that could keep the knife near the top of my pocket and stationary. Do you have any suggestions with that?

Thanks
