I'm looking around for a necker with a 3'' blade, preferable without the skeleton handle, as I'm not much of a fan...

sturdy neck sheath, made of carbon fiber or similar plastic,

any suggestions?

I don't want to pay too much for it, it's most likely going to be a backup to my f1

I have an original Becker Necker with kydex sheath.

what are you willing to pay for it? hehehehe

I'll take a Dog father or Busse Battle mistress in trade......heheheheheh

:D

I have been looking at neck knives for myself lately. Maybe someone will give an opinion for both of us. I want a secure knife sheeth so that I do not have to worry about the knife falling out and me cutting my jugular or something... or even worse, losing the knife.

It is small but the Nemisis Hellion looks neat it S30v
I think the Wolf Pup by Ranger...it looks fat for a neck knife
I was looking at one called a "Stitch"? It was S30v as well
The Hartsook has a small blade and looks dangerous. Have heard it will fall out of the sheeth.
I would love the Becker Necker.

To me the Stitch looked, if that is what it is called, looks like a nice one with about a 3" blade for under 40 bucks and is S30v.

I would love some opinions.

BM 210 is a nice sub 3" necker ( SNODY design - so you know it works ).

Flat and carries well , though the factory sheath aint the best.

The Buck Mayo Kaala with a 3 1/8" S30V blade should be right up your alley. $59.95 @ knifeworks.com.

imho a livesay woo is the best necker, hard to find nowadays though, #2 would be an emerson lagriffe.

Yep, the Buck Mayo Kaala is great - make a cord wrap and no problemo with the bare steel handle. ;)

How about the Fallkniven WM1? Great ergos, excellent sheath, convex edge - blade is VG10 or laminated 3G steel...

All the ones mentioned are great, but most of them are kind of big, IMHO.

I've tried a number of them & these are the best ones, for me:
HAK (HideAwayKnife): I have the plain utility model in 440C. Get it sized right & it won't go anywhere, not to mention, no one's going to disarm you w/o getting their share of wounds.

Spyderco SPOT: These are getting harder & more expensive to find. With the finger hole & handle, even the biggest hands (Mine are XXL) can use this.
There's an AUS 6 model (Which I've never used), & the nicer micarta scaled one, with VG-10 (I've had 2 different ones). The SPOT's sheath is probably the best of the bunch, because the "tube" that runs along the top, does keep the sheathed knife from flopping/turning.

Emerson La Griffe: These are probably the least expensive & easiest to get. Their blade is larger than the SPOT, but smaller than the HAK's.

I have had a MicroTech Manus, Benchmade 210 & Tether, Buck/Hartsook, Ranger Little Bird, Tops Wolf-Pup, Blind Horse Bat-Wing, CRKT Dogfish & SideHawg 2, Livesay Thrasher, & probably a couple more I've forgotten.
I'll admit I'm prejudiced towards neck knives with a hole in it. I like that because it's easier to index, pull-out, & retain, in the time of need (& yes, I've used mine).

I've never handled one, but I would say the best "inexpensive" knife I've seen that I wouldn't mind trying out, is CRKT's A.G. Russell Ringers. Particularly the Hawk-Bill one, as it has an OAL of 3 1/2" (Like my large HAK, 5.0 2-finger ring size).

Out of all those knives, I still have the 3 main ones I listed above & a custom Little Bird. I did like the Livesay Thrasher, but preferred the B/M 210 over it, due to its better steel (S30V vs A2, as SS is nice for a neck knife).

Good luck with whatever you choose.

How about a Fallkniven G1 Garm Fighter? I have one, and have used it as a neck knife.

Benchmade Snody Activator. I own and carry one as a Necker. D2 Steel, Carbon Fiber handles, tight Sheath made for Neck Carry.

Spyderco SPOT. These are superb for a Back up Blade. Very light, stain resistant, good sheath.

I agree. I just got a 210TK last week and love it. It's only a 2.10" blade but it's already handled many a job at work with ease. It barely prints under a tshirt but I'll be moving to a Mercharness soon. The Kydex sheath that came with mine is decent. It has a tightening screw which I cranked up and it's been holding just fine. Highly recommended knife.
