Dunno how the heck I hadn't heard about this show until like 5 minutes ago!!!!!!???????!!!!!!!

Was gonna hit the Arms Collectors show in Puyallup, but not now!!!!! geez.... guess I gotta get back to checking this place out more often again... :o

This goes out to all whom, sadly are unable to make it to Seattle for this weekend's show. I know that for the most part, the wonderful folks on the forums get filled in on the shows they miss a bit after the show has even happened. I want to give all of you a chance to see the events as they are happening by following Maumasi Fire Arts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

You'll get behind the scenes and see today's "Pre-funk" at Dave Lisch's Dragonfly Studio and Studio 4 Forging Facility. Over Saturday and Sunday you'll get to see the incredible collection of Bladesmiths and Knifemakers that the Blade Gallery has assembled for this rockstar show, their beautiful work, and an inside look at the Saturday VIP reception and Award Presentations!

So follow us on whichever platform works best for you. Share, Like and Comment to spread the word so everyone can get the chance to see the excitement!

I will be attending this show on Saturday. I will try and take a few photos and post them here when I get a chance.

Hope you all have a great show! I would love to be there, but travel from the north side of the border presents just too many hassles.

I've always enjoyed Seattle area shows, met a lot of good people and made a lot of friends.

Have fun!

The pre-funk today was great, lots of great makers there and boy did I suffer some shop envy… that big Wolf hammer is awesome!

Wow! What a great way to kick off the 1st Annual Seattle International Knife Show! For any of you who couldn't make it to the Pre-Funk at David Lisch's shop, here's an inside look at all the great demos that took place today.

What anawesome day!!!! Thank you to David and Andrea and to everyone who helped put this on. An experience I will not soon forget.

Meers won THE award!
Sorry I won't be able to post the dozens and dozens of photos I captured for a couple of days. Right now, I'm at the Green Tortoise hostel trying to wake up with about the shittiest cup of coffee ever. Ironic, considering I'm at the heart of hoity toity coffee in America. Anyway, I'll be heading to Kirkland via public transport in a couple of hours for more good times.
I'm totally impressed with this show. Best one I've ever been to! ;) But seriously, the calibre and depth of talent here is unreal, and the venue is so compact that it's really a very social experience.
Again, sorry for the lack of eye candy, but I have lots of good stuff and I'll be putting a thread together once I return home and have some time. Probably wednesday or so.

Wednesday or Thursday, good god, man! Get your priorities in order!!:D:D

It's apparent there was an abundance of great knife show energy on the west coast this weekend. Wow!

Andrew Meers? Im not surprised in the least. He's crazy talented.

Looking forward to more.

I went there Saturday with my little boy. It was a bit overwhelming for him so we only stayed 30mn. Said hi to a bunch of old friends. Two things I noticed in the show: (1) Saign Charlestein, whom I had never heard of before, does awesome work, and (2) there were a lot more chef knives than in any other show I've been to.

I made it on Saturday and was highly impressed. Speaking of chef's knives - check out the damascus on this (terrible) photo of an integral from Devin Thomas.

This was honestly my first knife show, so I was admittedly a bit lost and overwhelmed. I brought a camera, but somehow forgot to use it and only snapped this single photo at the last moment.

Thanks to all the exhibitors for a terrific show!

Cheers,
David

Saign is a friend of mine and does incredible sculpting and texture-work (I don't know all the fancy names for that) anyway, we're going to be doing a collaboration sword project this Summer. And, there were indeed a lot of kitchen knives there, but more importantly - a lot of kitchen knife buyers :-)
