What about this. Get the CS seax machete and go to work on it with an angle grinder, hacksaw, and files. Remove the rubber handle, make the blade shaped as you like, and give it the handle you want.
 
Along the lines of pullrich's recommendation, you might want to check out MRL/Windlass (check out their product through KoA). They offer a broken back seax which could make a great DIY project if you're handy and willing to put some work into it.
 
I'm mainly thinking the classical viking seax, so the straight edged blade, Wharnecliffe.

You got Storm Crow right here, replying in your thread. How much better can it get? A maker of some of the most Brutal blades there are. All you need to do is look at his stuff and hope he can fit it in.
 
Thank you, Lee. The options available in the custom world for $100 are very limited, and "something amazing" is typically going to run over $200. I could do something closer to the lower price for a bare blade that the customer puts on their own fittings and handle.
