Seb 25 questions.......Few More Q's

Okay, last question. I hear guys talk of polished vs. stone washed blade, bead blasted or scotchbrited handle slabs.
I know already that I don't want a polished blade, but rather the stonewashed. I have to look into pics of the different handles.
Is there some way to get either or I have to special order for that? What do the ones from the regular dealers like KSF carry? Thanks
dave

also, I know I have seen sebenzas with blue standoffs to match the thumb studs. What model was that? Im assuming the 25 has blue thumb stud but silver standoffs? thanks again for any clarification..

The 25 comes only with a stonewash blade and bead blasted handles (other than the 2500 dollar prototype). These are standard and are considered the utility finishes. The 25 is standard with blue studs, and the back spacer is hidden by the lanyard string. KSF is a great shop to deal with. I bought my bark rivers from them, and got great service.

I hope this helps.. The 25 currently only comes in two variations. The TNK (True North Knives) exclusive with silver thumb lugs (studs) and those sold by everyone else with blue thump lugs. ( Silver lugs may be offered if ordered direct from CRK?)
All "New" Sebenza 25's have the blasted finish on the handles no other option is offered (scotch bright treatment is just that using a scotch bright pad to change the handle finish.)
All have the stone washed finish on the blade.
All the best, Dave

Okay, got it. thank you again. Now that Im looking at more pics, I also am leaning towards the looks of the regular sebby too. What i like about this one and the 25 is the drop point, where it seems the 21 seems to have a more upswept edge, if I understand correctly. So, if I wanted a small with drop point, the small regular would be the way to go and the 25 for the larger version. Just wanna make sure I got this right.

Now, another decision.....blue, or silver......too many darn options!

the appearance of an upsweep on the top (spine) of the 21 blade is an illusion. It is not a clip point, but certainly looks that way from certain angles. Sometimes I have to hold a straight edge against the spine of my 21 to prove to myself it is a drop point / spear point blade.

If I were going to purchase a "New" 25 and wanted to actually use it.. (everyone knows I don't use um) I would go with the Silver Thumb Lugs.. They look very nice and don't show the wear that the blue lugs do. But that's just my humble opinion. As a collector of these fine knives I love the blue thumb lugs but hate the way it wears off.
Best of luck in your quest.. I will add one more thing, regardless of which knife you decide to purchase you will love it!! And then you will soon find that you need another, and another and another... :D

Oh man, I got another one for you guys...
It seems the 25 doesn't have accessories like the lanyard and bead from CR. I think it comes with a lanyard but no bead that I can find. I guess that's the way it is on the 25, just a lanyard on the rear standoff? Are you guys buying beads and tying your own for the 25? I always really liked the bead between the snake knots or whatever they are....
Thanks, once again

You've got it exactly right. I bought a grooved bead from CR and tied my own lanyard on my 25. Honestly I felt like it was easier than changing the lanyard on a 21, which involves complete disassembly of the knife.

A store near me must have 50 of the CRK lanyards. I've never tied one but with the 25, I am forced to. So what I did was dug through the pile till I found one that had some blue I liked to tie the thumb stud into the rest of the knife. Here is what I came up with. Took about 1 min to tie it from a youtube tutorial. My first lanyard ever.

Looks perfect Justin. Very nice work, and great choice of bead!

My 25 is at the PO now! Have to wait till after work to pick it up. :( the horror. The horror!

Haha, I've been there. Got my 25 last June. It was suppose to get to me the day before I went on vacation. Got delayed a day. My wonderful wife didn't mind a bit when I asked if we could stop by the PO on the way out. Even though it was in the other direction. I had to get there after sorting but before it was loaded on the truck to go out. When I first got to the counter they said that it was probably getting ready to go out and he couldn't locate it. Luckily I say hi to our post lady every time I can. She recognized me and went and got it. That was a close call.

Ok, just ordered a 25 from KSF. Thanks guys for everything. I decided on the blue, as I am just drawn to it more. I will be posting a pic when I get her.

I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight

Yeah buddy! Well I got home too late. And I work tomorrow. She's sitting all alone in the dark desolate PO right now. Tear

Has anyone given their boss an excuse to go to the post office during work hour?

I have hahahahaha.

Haha, yea over the summer doing road work I ask for a lunch break, and sure enough find myself in the post office covered head to toe in asphalt seal coat. I don't think the PO employees were too happy with me......
