Seb owner looked at me cross eyed for no clip.

So, I carry my Seb in the calfskin slip with the clip removed from the Seb. I mean, if I'm not gonna use the clip why leave it there. (Minimalist). I met a friend of a friend today... he completely lost it! He started telling me that I was ruining the "flow" of the knife by removing the clip. Uhhh... psycho? Theres gotta be other people with no clip... right?

Only on special occasions will I remove the clip from my sebbie. Example, Christmas I will carry my small bocote seb in the calfskin because when my Grandma or aunt or whoever needs a knife to open a gift it doesn't scare them to hand them a nice knife inside a nice pouch as much as whipping the clipped knife off of my pocket. It's easy sheeple insurance for the elder part of the family.

Flow? One could argue that the clip destroys the flow. I use the clip because I have a different minimalist view; use the clip and not a sheath which leaves me with less items carried each day. Plus, the clip helps the knife fill the hand and is simply handy.

I use the clip persoanaly but if i did sheath my Seb. I would remove the clip as its not needed, i dont see any problems with that. You can even get a clip "hole cover" so it was clerly thought about in the design process.

Your mates mate must just need to drink less coffee or something :p

You're right about the hole cover or clip insert. That would help "smooth" the "flow" from more of an artsy feel. I think the Sebbie's overall design is more user then some other custom or more decorative knives.

Screw em. It's your knife. :)

If you carried your Sebenza in a pouch, in the horizontal position on your belt, you
would find it is easier to pull the Sebenza out of the pouch if it doesn't have the clip.

It doesn't show in the photo but that small unique graphis Sebanza is without its clip.

OK, so I'm not insane. Thanks. I don't know, after using the Seb without a clip it feels awkward for me with clip.

My box elder woodie has the clip, but my small regular doesnt, hey it comes down to personal need! What is wrong with your freind ?

Clip or clipless...it's all good. I carry a small seb in the pouch but have never taken the clip off. I'm always thinking I'll carry it clipped but never do. I should probably remove the clip.

What is this about an insert? Where are they sold and how much do they cost?

I believe your friend's friend is a prime canidate for strong medication.:confused: First of all it's your sebbie and do whatever you want to it. Second, I wear some of mine with clips and some others without in the calf pouches. Also in some custom sheaths as well.

Bottom line: Carry your sebenza any which way that makes you feel comfortable. Just like some of my every day users. I tweak'em a bit to my specifications. Do others? I don't now or care! Whats mine is mine and what is theres is there's!

Freedom one must love it!

Slatts, their a small oval piece that fits perfectly in the hole when the clip is removed. Personally, I just reinstall the screw ...works fine for me. Some may like the insert better for the real high end sebbies for looks.

They can be obtained from CRK's website or call the store, as well as all of there Dealers.

**Titanium clip insert and screw (large or small Sebenza) $27.50

I don't think they're worth the $40. (minimum shipping & handling is $13 ...) We're talking about a thin flake of titanium here. Maybe that's the price because it's so small it's difficult to manufacture? I suppose you can also ask nicely where you bought/will buy it. (I got my sebenza from Lynn O. Olson on ebay and got an insert afterwards, free of charge, very nice service.)

Personally I don't like the clip at all since it destroys the flow of the knife ;)
The first thing I did after getting it out of the box was remove the clip.

I like a clip, but the seb is one knife I would carry without one..... As for flow..... as long as the knife doesnt flow away from me....

My seb that I carry in the belt sheath has the clip insert installed, the one in the pocket has their clip. To each their own, but it should be the owner's discretion.

Clip ?? Lanyard?? What are those ? I don't like gadgets so mine is plain Jane ! Your friend is psycho !!

I haven't tried mine without a clip. I just find it SOOOOOO convienient, I can't imagine living without the clip. :(

The first thing I do when I get a new knife of any kind is remove the clip. I like carrying my "Pocket"knives loose in my pocket - like my father did and his father before him.

Small micarta is in my pocket during the week, no clip, with insert, in the CRK pouch. Before I got the micarta I did the same with a small regular.

The large, on the weekends, is clipped to my pocket. Just works out nicely for me.

I carry my small plain classic in my pocket w/o a clip. I do the same with my bloodwood minandi.
