Seb tuning secrets?

How come no one has addressed tightness of the three screws? If your three screws has the death grip on them, the action is going to be waaaay to tight. Especially the stop pin screw. One can really improve the action of the knife by loosening up that screw a twitch or two. And often times, the lock bar is bend in too tight as well. I have worked on scores of Sebs in the last couple of years and found that some lock bars are really bend in towards the opposite handle--not good for smooth action. Some times, I need to bend them back a twitch.

Good luck all,

B.

P.S. psssst, Mayo was hip to the "tightness" of the three screws. Thats one of the reasons his tune-ups were so damn good

Theoretically, the bushing prevent screw tightness from affecting the blade action.

A strongly bent lock bar would though. In fact I now make sure my pocket clips do not ride on the lock bar at all.

Barry, thanks on the tightness idea. Just did some playing around and starting to get it...

As to trongly bent lock bars. Oh yea, they will definatly cause problems (which is happening with my PT).
