Sebenza 21 bushing problem?

That is not being picky. That would bother me a lot. I'm sure they would fix it of course but maybe call them Monday and ask if they have a trick.

Could it be that the washer has been over-thinned out on the presentation side, making it naturally favor that side?

Electric motors often have REALLY thin shims used to fine-tune the play in their pivot points. If you have some old ones you can take apart, or source some of the bushings, you might be able to shim that side before having to send it back or living with it as it is.

That is a long shot for sure, but some of them really are paper-thin. Pretty amazing.

The shim would ruin the action again. You should just leave it and see what it does over time after a few cleanings and use. Then send it in if it does not improve. Although it would bother me. I would just treat is as normal.

Really stupid question but did you assemble the scales first and then slip in the blade between the scales? Mine came off centered u til I followed someone from the board's video on YouTube about reassembling.

Doubtful...I took the same amount off on each washer and it has been consistently off center since I purchased it. The only way would be if the previous owner did something but I don't think he did.

I have taken the whole knife apart and that did not change anything.

Final update: Out of ideas, I swapped the scale screws so the female side was on the presentation side and it looks like that has fixed the centering issue(or close enough that I don't care anymore haha)

I meant there's a very specific order to how the knife is reassembled that automatically centers a crk blade as show in this video:

Chris Reeve Sebenza Assembly Part 3: https://youtu.be/ObYRmyiVQiY

I had tried that right from the get go as I like to clean/lube my used knives upon purchase. Apparently this Sebenza didn't get the memo to automatically center itself :p

That looks darn near prefect to me. The tip appears dead center. Congrats on a nice fix!

That's a video pulled off YouTube btw not the op's seb. Mine came off centered and then I found this video and followed the instructions.

I think you might have had a pinched washer in the first picture. Just my thoughts. Looks good now.

Well the blade was off centered, swapped the scale screws 1 at a time (without taking the knife apart) and then it was centered. So I doubt that was the case.

Hmm, I think it's strange that that would do it, but hey; it's nice to see things get fixed! As I said, it looks much better.

I did that same thing to center a Gold Class Benchmade I have. Swapped the orientation of the fasteners one at a time until it worked. Was so long ago I forgot about it until this thread.

Congrats on fixing it yourself and not having to send it out of country.
