I was just wondering who likes the wood inlays on the new 31, I myself like the older double ones like on the 21 as I think they look much better and gives a classer style look to the over all knife, the other changes like lock up like the Inkosi are improvement though I feel, was wondering how you other guys felt about it! most likely hang on to my sebenza 21 for good now, thanks for looking.

At the end it will be a question of personal taste
I was used to the 21 double inlays but the 31 large inlays are growing on me

As I only currently have a inkosi with red linen micarta inlays and I love it. I do have a large 21 with box elder coming in middle of the week next week and I'll be able to have a say in at least them two. I do believe as far as wood goes the full single piece is going to allow for better display of the beauty and uniqueness in the patterns each wood has. Take the Mnandi as an example. The full scales look amazing and really stand out, a main feature of the knife. Can't wait to see a 31 in the wild.

I suppose it will depend on the character of a specific inlay. I’m holding final judgement until I start seeing pics of individual knives in circulation.

FWIW, as for micarta, I prefer two-piece.

They did a great job on these new inlays. They look pretty dang nice and very comfortable. Like nice couch cushion's for your finger tips.

It is a through back to the annual Sebenzas.

I love it.

Don't know what I was thinking when I let that one go but here's a better picture of your Annual, congrats it's a beautiful Piece.

Aesthetics aside, the scales on the 11 just work for me, no slipping and sliding because of the texture on the wood, just sticks to your hand.

I think for wood inlays it’s a good look. But, I also prefer the current micarta version.

I like them. I want one!

I wish the wood inlays didnt have polished handles. I am debating between all of them. Front runners are black micarta and the elder burl. I am probably gonna splurge for a raindrop Damascus.

Anyone know when these will start rolling out?

My good freind and fellow lefty sent me this information when I ask him the same question. Hope it helps you in your journey.

I think the new inlays look great with wood but not so much with micarta. I definitely don't dislike them though. Ultimately would prefer the new style for wood and the older for micarta, if that was possible on the 31.

I much prefer the one piece inlay, it really shows off the wood. I never understood why you would put two strips on a handle instead of one solid piece.
