I much prefer the one piece inlay, it really shows off the wood......

This is the real point about the inlay style of the 31. A wood inlay with really dramatic figure, grain, color contrast or burl knotting will be shown off to a much greater degree on the 31 because of the increased size of the inlay piece instead of the old split, two-piece 21 inlay configuration.
