I've always used and appreciated knives. When I joined blade forums I was prepared to spend $150 on a super duper folding knife. It was before YouTube & websites with even half way decent pics.
Basically it was "The Sebenza is the best and here's why:" ...and that was it. There was one "comparable" (</=) knife & it was the Benchmade Pinnacle. I went to a shop (WholeEarthProvisionCompany, Austin, TX) & looked at one and it was no better quality than any of the other less expensive BM, Spyderco & Kershaw knives there. I thought, MAN, if I'm actually considering this "Sebenza" I could just buy any of the knives in this case, have an awesome knife RIGHT NOW, spend less, and be happy.
I called CRK to see if there were any Dealers in my area. They gave me the name of a man who traveled gun shows & was a dealer. I called him and he said he would be at a Gun Show the coming weekend! Balls! I did not have the moola to buy it that soon! I went to the show with some buddies. I brought a pistol to sell JUST in case I really really reeeeeeally liked this "Sebenza." The quality absolutely blew me away. I quickly sold the pistol & bought the knife! Actually when the dealer peered I to my wallet, he said "Son I can't leave you with no gas money." He had already made the ticket out w/ tax & whatnot. The total was $330. He said "Gimme 3 (hundred)."
In all this time there was a period of around 8mos I've been Sebenzaless. I decided that folders were folders and fixed blades were a better "high end" knife buy. I sold all my knives except for a Swamp Rat FB & a Spyderco Military. It was certainly adequate but I often felt over or under knifed. The Sebenza is an excellent go between.
I would DEFINITELY recommend buying a 21! It is every bit of knife that anyone who uses a knife "smarter not harder" should ever need.
