Sebenza 25 CGG and Damascus are coming!

This is it. This is going to be the knife that breaks me this year. So much for the "only one knife" resolution....

How old is the Sebenza that you have now? Didn't you get that in 95 or so?

Mine was givin for 10 yr's of service.. started in 86. received it in 96. Back when Chris was a two man shop, him and an apprentice.
always enjoyed coming in to visit. Annie and the dog's would man the front counter, and Chris would always have a good story to tell when he'd name a new knife. :)
 
FYI... Talked with Chris Reeve today. These won't hit dealer shelves till after the BladeShow.
 
So, does anyone think for reals a small 25 might be in the works in the near future?
 
A few showed up on the KSF site. I've got the basketweave 25 on its' way. Looked like two raindrop bladed remain.

Does anyone think that this may be a rare combo in the near future with the CGG Damascus scale not matching the raindrop blade steel? Maybe I should pick one up just in case...
 
It matches as well as it can. Damascus varies from one piece to another. Some have more circles, while some have more waves. Just depends on where the blank was cut from the damascus bar.
 
IMO, those two raindrop patterns do not match. The pattern on the handle is from the pattern of damascus they used before the "new" pattern on the raindrop blades theyre using now.
 
There is one at bladehq right now.
But I think it is ladder with rain drop handle.

To me, the top of the blade with the swirls matches pretty well. Remember the 25 blade is a bit thicker than the 21's, so we are going to see different patterns. They are still awesome though. I am just having a hard time choosing. I was never a fan of ladder, but the ladder on this looks awesome. Always been a big basketweave fan also. I always liked raindrop, but for me the other 2 look better in the pics shown.
 
Those are nice looking, no doubt, but are almost getting into the "art knife" territory where I draw the line. But if a wealthy benefactor sent me one, I would certainly take it.
