Looks dirty and used more than anything. I would be REALLY surprised if it was a fake since the seller/trader is pretty astute in spotting CRK fakes.

If I were you, I'd pull it apart to get a closer look at it. If I'm not mistaken, the stand off and stop pin are titanium and should not rust. From the pics, it appears to be legit, if it were me, I'd pull it apart however and look to see that the "V" stamp is on the blade and to give the stop pin a closer look.

I would say send it to CRK and see what they say. I can't tell from the pics if it is rust or dirt.

I don't think it's rust...it looks more like gummy dirt. Taking it apart will tell for sure...nothing to lose.

That one shouldn't need Loctite...usually only the Umnumzaans loosen up with use. You can use blue...but sparingly only on a thread or two

I would take it down but I don't have the CRK lock tite only the normal blue.
The LocTite they use is just the purple stuff, which I personally don't like anyway. I would go ahead and use the blue personally, it works better and it isn't gonna require heat or anything to break. Just my $.02

Sweet I always have Teflon tape too. I don't care if the stop pin cleans up. I want a user just not a fake.

The stop pin in mine is NOT titanium, it's steel. I just checked with a magnet. It looks legit to me, and the stop pin area does collect a lot of debris..

Looks like the real deal to me. Take it apart, clean, lube and loc tite with blue LT. Use it!

Thanks for checking. All that money and a steel stop pin who would have guessed.

Steel should actually work in your favor. It'll take more abuse than the Ti, so if you flip it open you aren't jarring steel against Titanium! Food for thought :)

And Titanium isn't as "rare and exotic and expensive" as everyone thinks. I'm sure a hardened steel pin might even cost more, who knows. But with Chris Reeve, you can bet it was well engineered. After all, that's why we buy and use them, right?

I thought the 25s were like the Umnu and needed Loctite on the pivot screw. ???

I am sure the stop pin not being titanium is not a cost saving measure. You want the stop pin to be hard and wear resistant.

Not sure why it would matter since the only abuse a stop pin like that would receive is if you flick the knife open which is frowned upon, or batoning the knife.
